Hi,

First of all congratulations and best of luck on the next competition.
Regarding the python - php AES256-CBC difference, I’ve recently done a task involving cross-language cryptography and using this example http://stackoverflow.com/questions/10534393/encrypt-in-php-decrypt-in-python <http://stackoverflow.com/questions/10534393/encrypt-in-php-decrypt-in-python> it worked. Besides the key, AES needs an IV (initial value) to be set. Maybe that was the missing link.
